PVA SUPPORTS THE VIRGINIA LIVING MUSEUM

The PVA supports the Virginia Living Museum with the care of their animals. Dr. Chris Dassler of Bay Area Veterinary Surgery performed intussusception surgery on a young red wolf, and an exploratory laparotomy on an adult red wolf. Dr. Jean Eddy of Poquoson Veterinary Hospital has performed medical treatments and surgery on a blue heron and an eagle.

Additionally, the Emergency Veterinary Clinic donates services and treatments to the animals of the Peninsula SPCA.
DISASTER PREPARATION & RECOVERY

The PVA plays a pivotal role in animal disaster preparation and recovery. During disasters, many PVA clinics remain open to take care of pets whose families must evacuate. In the critical days following disasters, the Emergency Clinic is prepared to handle an influx of injured pets and strays.
  WILDLIFE

The PVA provides care for sick and injured wildlife. Through the Emergency Veterinary Clinic, the PVA treats wildlife brought in by Virginia's Fish & Game at no charge. The PVA offers similar discounted services to the Animal Services divisions of Hampton, Newport News, York County and Poquoson.
